# Babel - branding and Google Play kit

Verified against Google Play documentation on 2026-10-07.

## Files ready for the store listing

- play-store/icon-512.png: 512 x 512, 32-bit RGBA PNG, maximum 1024 KB. No baked-in rounded corners or shadow. This is not an Android adaptive launcher icon.
- play-store/feature-fr-1024x500.png and feature-en-1024x500.png: 1024 x 500, 24-bit RGB PNG, no alpha. Select the version matching the listing language.
- listing/fr.txt and en.txt: title (30 characters maximum), short description (80), full description (4000). JSON files contain the same copy.
- logos/: mascot on transparent, white and black backgrounds, 1024 x 1024.
- banners/: 1600 x 600 brand signatures on white, black and transparent backgrounds. Light lettering is provided for dark backgrounds.
- social/: 1200 x 630 social image and FR/EN hashtags. These hashtags are for social posts, NOT a dedicated Play Console field.
- android/adaptive-foreground-432.png: transparent 432 x 432 foreground, the xxxhdpi equivalent of Android's 108 dp layer. Artwork stays inside the central 66 dp safe circle. Use it as the foreground in Android Studio Image Asset; background-color.xml supplies white. Android Studio generates density-specific launcher resources. Keep the existing legacy launcher icons for API 23-25; this source is not a replacement for all native resources.
- manifest.json: dimensions, alpha, file sizes, hashes and communication palette.

The only original mascot available is 256 x 256 pixels. Larger exports upscale this raster. A higher-resolution original would improve print and large-format results. Do not stretch, recolour or distort the mascot. Keep clear space around it. Transparent files are not substitutes for Google's opaque feature graphic.

## Screenshots still required

No invented screenshots are included. Capture the REAL Android application with fictional or explicitly authorised data. Never include private user stories, credentials or personal data.

Google requires at least 2 screenshots in total; up to 8 per device type. JPEG or 24-bit PNG without alpha; dimensions 320 to 3840 pixels, largest dimension no more than twice the smallest. For app recommendation eligibility, provide at least 4 screenshots at 1080 x 1920 (portrait 9:16) or 1920 x 1080 (landscape 16:9). Other device tracks have their own requirements.

Suggested phone sequence: your stories workspace, chapter editor, voice dictation, sharing/export. Show existing features and indicate plan-dependent features accurately. Do not use rating claims, fake reviews, store badges or promotional pricing overlays. Copy each device capture into screenshots/phone/, then validate its dimensions and absence of alpha before uploading. Captures of this branding page are NOT store screenshots.

- Suggested category: Productivity; confirm against Google's current taxonomy. Select only relevant available Console tags (maximum 5); keywords and hashtags are not free-form Play metadata fields.

- Complete Data safety from actual collection/sharing practices (account, texts, images, voice, AI and providers), content rating, target audience, reviewer access and account deletion including the external deletion URL required by Google. Do not submit made-up declarations.
- Validate microphone permission and the subscription flow against current Google Play payments policy. No claim of Play Billing support is made by this kit.
- Sign the release AAB and verify current target API requirements (API 36 for new phone submissions since 2026-08-31, unless an approved extension applies). Test the real Android build. This kit does not change native configuration or create a signed AAB.
- New personal accounts created after 2023-11-13 require at least 12 closed-test users continuously opted in for 14 days before applying for production access.
- Promotional video is optional for this phone app; TV banner (1280 x 720) only if submitting Android TV. This kit targets the phone listing, not TV, Wear OS or XR.
